Seattle's Finest Kitchen Visual

To follow on from my Green kitchen Seattle Post!!Here is a 10 second visual walk through for you to step  inside my clients kitchen along with them.

Green Kitchen Seattle

Green is a great colour to bring internally, it’s found everywhere in nature and plays well with almost any other colour. It suits any style kitchen, from traditional too modern and everywhere in between. It has such a calming effect, setting any room up for a relaxed atmosphere.

So my clients had already purchased their gold backsplash and had trouble envisioning how a emerald green kitchen and a gold backsplash would tie in together. Realistically they had nothing too fear. green, gold and white with brass accents shouts both luxury and class. This isn't the first room where green has made an appearance! It's run throughout their home but using different spectral greens to emphasise each rooms personality.

I cant sign off without mentioning their beautiful and humongous island. That saying 'Go big or go home' is definitely relating here!! What a statement feature. It has taken this lovely family a long time to get to this stage so they deserve every minute of luxury, joy and happiness that this house will bring them.

Bathroom Renovation Cork

This is an example of the 10 second virtual walkthrough that I give each client at the end of their design. My clients appreciate this added detail as they can virtually tour their room and watch it come to life.

Renovation Monochrome

I have just recently finished this beautiful renovation 3D design in Co. Cork. I am generally not lost for words but this home is truly magical. Mid-18th century two story house filled with character, original features restored to full glory down through the years. It has changed ownership 6 times but my recent clients have been living in this house for 6 years now and state it will be in their family decades to come.

As I was saying a lot of the original features have being restored to full glory. The vanity in this bathroom was an original which was restored 15 years ago by the former owners and my clients just couldn't part with it and wanted to incorporate it into the design.

This bathroom is to be shared by my clients two eldest twin daughters. They asked for some modern aspects to be incorporated as well but still being sensitive to the traditional side of their home. A wall hung toilet was to replace the Canterbury high level toilet that was originally there. Shower niches are to be added just beside the bath area with LED strip lighting. The sanitary ware in the shower area will be updated. Instead of the freestanding cast iron bath, a built-in bath will take its place with added accessories like the floating step.

The first things the girls told me was they had a slight obsession with monochrome. This was the only room they were allowed design themselves, they knew what they wanted from the get go. They wanted the design to last throughout the years and the outcome to be elegant not too girlie as they had put it. Extremely mature beyond their years. I loved every bit of contact between the girls they were a delight to deal with. They were ecstatic with their final design.

Main Bathroom Galway

A good percentage of my clients would have a lot of sanitary ware purchased before they would come to me or would know exactly what they want style wise. The toilet placement is always the first major decision to be made at foundation level. I actually found this the hardest to decide on, once we knew the placement the rest of the bathroom fell into place.

From the 3D designs underneath you will notice Danielle's toilet placed under the window. So realistically that has left you with 3 walls to decide on where your vanity/shower etc. would go. In this bathroom it made sense to put the shower and vanity all on the back wall. If this bathroom needed wheelchair accessibility at some stage then you would be covered at all angles.

So the main tile in this design was to be left as neutral as possible keeping away from white neutrals but using creams and beige with earthy undertones instead.

On the vanity wall the main tile is a herringbone style tile in a forest green with a gold grout. Yes I said it right, "gold grout"  it gives your tile that extra wow factor. On the same wall you will notice the transition of tiles in the shower area to a cream marble with a gold vein throughout. To save on budget you could bring your herringbone the whole way across but my client loved this transition and it stayed.

This is why 3D Designs are so effective. Being able to visually see your room before your build commences further is incredible.

Seattle Bound

This is one of the biggest houses I had the pleasure of designing to date. 5,500sqft of magic!! Nicole has numerous animals with her peacock being her favourite. I have always being intrigued by this elegant animal and the intricates of their beautiful feathers.

So focusing mainly on the colour of her pet peacocks feathers this was the starting point for her mood board. Vibrant Turquoise's, rich creams, Stunning navy's and touches of light gold and white.

Nicole had envisioned this entrance hall to be inviting by adding a seating area in this room. Shadowed by beautiful panelled wall and adding soft furnishings. The main focus was to keep this room light and bright with the feeling of space. So adding a mirrored feature ceiling, mirror on the wall, a full glass Crittall style front door would reflect an amazing amount of light to this room.

It really is a Entrance hall of dreams!!

Main Bathroom Inspiration

Galway

We all have that one person or house that when you see their interior styles in passing trawling through numerous house build pages or Pinterest you instantly shout 'that is me in everyway' Reaction-SCREENSHOT. Well this is exactly what Danielle's design is right here for me. A stunning and unique and elegant bathroom Design.

Like always I have a brief conversation with my clients whether it is on the phone or through emails. I can easily say the first two minute conversation with Danielle, I knew instantly how she envisioned each one of her bathrooms to be.

I am a massive fan of statement walls in builds, but there is something special about a statement wall in a bathroom. It doesn't have to be tile, It can easily be accomplished with paint or if you are looking for something very different, you could try wallpaper or Natural stone, like in this design right here.

A white crisp and clean line tile with glimpses of grey paint, the perfect amount of lighting and that spa like shower with a natural stone accent wall. HEAVEN!!!

Boutique Hotel in Mayo

The owner of a boutique hotel in Co. Mayo, which is undertaking an extension and renovation, got in touch about putting together a 3D design. This new wing consisted of two en-suite family rooms.

From first initial contact I was given a quick brief from the owner of what he would like this new space to look like. How he wanted it to feel. The concept was to be inviting and homely, a light, bright and spacious area. He gave me free reign over the design and left me with very little instructions. No spotlights, no dark colours. He wanted it to be a space that any age group would enjoy and relax.

I was able to create that space to the client's specifications from which he could then send a design to his builder including all the finer detailing.

Kitchen Design in Mayo

One of two kitchen designs for our own new build in Mayo. A black and oak handleless style kitchen, with subtle copper detailing.

We kept the floor tile very minimal as the counterspace and island marble already had so much detail.

As our build progressed our kitchen ideas changed slightly. We have still kept the handleless Gola system, added more lighting around the island and oak became concrete.

Having the 3D visualisations done, we were able to go to our kitchen supplier who could straight away draw up plans from what we had shown him, adding just minor changes, reducing the time spent discussing and designing the kitchen.

Who we are and What we do

 Who is ODK Designs?

ODK Designs is Lorraine Kelly, a mother of two, from Co. Mayo. I have always being Artistic and loved creating 2D models from an early age. Realistically I should have studied Architecture however I embarked a journey, a second love of Fine Art Painting. I loved every second!!  I graduated with an Honours Bachelors Degree. Continued on from there exhibiting my paintings, creating new work for awhile but there was always a missing link and that was my love of Computers and Interior Design. My husband and I began our own build in Mayo in mid-2020. So I got to work, dusted off the cobwebs and started developing my own 3D visuals for our build. ODK Designs was in action.

What do ODK Designs do?

Building your home is one of the biggest and most exciting projects you will probably ever undertake, it is also the most daunting!

Every build is different and unique with lots of decisions to be made before that vision of your home is complete. With proper planning and organisation from the start building your dream home can be enjoyable.

3D visualisations can take the stress away from you and your build. They will show you details that you may have missed in your planning process and guide you in the right direction.

You may have a certain room or a vision in your head but it gets lost in translation when putting it in words or down on paper. You have countless pins from numerous pages like Pinterest, but you don't know how they will look in your build. You may have purchased sanitary ware or vanities for example, and have found yourself wondering how will they look within a certain room. This is where ODK Designs come in.

What I need from you

  • A well dimensional 2D plan which includes door and window details.
  • A collection of images that inspire you.
  • Time for a one to one conversation with each client in order to gauge their likes & dislikes
  • What are your goals for this particular space?
  • What would you like the final outcome of your space to feel like?

What you will receive

I take this information and I create 3D models of your space. I work in close proximity with each client ensuring every area is covered and is 100% to each client's satisfaction.

At the end of the process you will get multiple photo-realistic 3D designs, a 10 second walk through video and will gain more confidence walking into a shop knowing exactly what you want and how it will look in your space.

How much will it cost?

Estimate pricing per room will range from €80 to €200 depending on size and detailing. Pricing will be discussed with clients upon first contact.

When can you expect final images?

A timeline will be discussed with each individual client prior to the start of the design process. Usually a completion date of one to two weeks, depending on the size of the project.
